Head of Finance – Financial Planning

Ambient People is working with a local authority to recruit an interim Head of Finance to lead on the development and delivery of the council’s financial planning strategy. With the current financial pressures involved, this will require finding innovate and cost-effective opportunities to ensure better outcomes for the council and its residents.

Ideally you will be a CCAB/CIMA qualified Accountant with previous experience in financial planning and supporting the MTFS for a local authority. Having a good understanding of local government finance, grants and returns will be essential, along with the ability to drill down into large data sets and financial models to get the relevant information. You’ll need strong communication skills to build cross-council relationships, able to turn information into tangible outcomes.
