Ambient People is working with a local authority to recruit an Interim HR Project Manager to support the delivery of a high-profile Spans and Layers programme as part of the council's wider Corporate Transformation agenda. Working closely with the HR Director, HR Change Manager and stakeholders across HR, Finance, Transformation and service directorates, you will provide both project management and HR expertise to drive the programme forward.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and maintaining project plans, milestones, governance and risk registers.
- Coordinating activity across HR, Finance, Transformation, Trade Unions and service areas.
- Supporting organisational design and restructuring proposals, ensuring compliance with employment legislation and council policies.
- Tracking workforce impacts, establishment changes, financial savings and programme benefits, while producing regular progress reports for senior stakeholders.
The successful candidate will bring strong project management experience alongside proven HR expertise gained through spans and layers reviews, organisational design, workforce transformation or large-scale restructuring programmes within a complex organisation. You will be confident managing complex stakeholder relationships, balancing competing priorities and driving projects through to successful completion.
Strong communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills are essential, as is the ability to provide credible HR advice throughout organisational change.
