Project Manager

We're working with a forward-thinking local authority who are embarking on a significant transformation across finance, income and debt. They’re looking for a hands-on, pragmatic Project Manager who can provide clarity, structure and steady delivery.

This is a delivery-focused PM role; perfect for someone with strong experience in local government or comparable complex environments, who’s comfortable navigating ambiguity, creating order, and keeping workstreams focused and moving forward.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

• Leading end-to-end delivery of transformation projects within a fast-paced public sector environment
• Rolling up your sleeves to create structure where there’s low change maturity
• Using MS365 tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Planner, SharePoint) to manage plans, comms, and delivery
• Creating artefacts, tracking risks, monitoring progress, and maintaining governance
• Collaborating closely with workstream leads, SMEs, and programme teams
• Providing weekly progress updates and maintaining high standards of communication

 

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of proven Project Management experience, ideally within local government or,  income & debt-related transformation
• Comfortable working in environments with low change maturity and evolving processes
• Demonstrable success managing multiple workstreams or small teams across diagnostic and delivery stages
• Strong reporting, workshop facilitation, and communication skills
• Ability to challenge constructively and drive delivery without losing sight of people
• Resilience and confidence in managing stakeholders and navigating resistance to change
