Schools Finance Manager

Ambient People is working with a local authority to recruit an interim Schools Finance Manager. Joining a supportive team, this role will be key to supporting the service in ensuring accurate management of school finances and helping to reducing the future deficit trajectories within the council’s schools. This will cover both operational finance, as well as strategic financial planning linked to the council’s Medium Term Financial Strategy.

Ideally you will be a CCAB/CIMA qualified Accountant with previous experience working with schools finance in a local government setting. You’ll have expert understanding of Dedicated Schools Grant and experience in preparing for Schools Forum. Alongside your technical knowledge, you will need to be able to analyse and interpret large financial data sets and with your excellent communication skills be able to explain complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
