Principal Accountant – Corporate Finance

We’re working on a new opportunity with a London Borough, supporting their Corporate Finance team. This is a technically demanding position that will report to the Strategic Finance Manager and be tasked with managing and analysing large data sets in complex worksheets. This information will feed into strategic decision making and so the quality and accuracy of work is vital. This is a great chance for an analytical individual to make an impact and support a vital function. The role is continuity cover pending permanent recruitment later this year.

Responsibilities will include monitoring and analysing corporate finance budgets, feeding into financial strategy and planning, whilst running statutory returns and monitoring progress on savings. Prior experience in Local Government Corporate Finance is not essential, but a strong work ethic and can do attitude is vital. The role will be relatively autonomous and so the right person will be a driven self-starter.
